Renewals and Partnership Manager
Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh. Some local and international travel may be required.
Reports to: Managing Director, Tradeshi
Job Summary:
Tradeshi, the official Gold Channel Partner of Alibaba.com in Bangladesh for 8+ years, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Renewals and Partnership Manager. This role is critical to our ongoing relationship with Alibaba.com, ensuring the success of our paid subscribers by leading a team focused on customer retention, platform training, and revenue growth. The successful candidate will also manage finance-related communications with Alibaba HQ, including payment processing, commission calculation, and reconciliation. Additionally, this role will involve managing a number of key accounts, allowing the manager to lead by example and directly contribute to customer success. The role also requires close collaboration with the New Sales Team to secure 1st-year renewals and generate referrals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership & Management:
- Led and manage the Renewals core team, ensuring they met or exceeded KPIs related to customer renewal rates, customer contact, and revenue.
- Identify and address gaps in internal training and product knowledge within the team.
- Develop and implement strategies for up-selling, cross-selling, upgrading, and renewing customers.
- Foster a customer-centric culture within the team, ensuring that every customer interaction adds value.
2. Key Account Management:
- Personally manage a portfolio of key accounts to demonstrate best practices in customer retention and account management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with these key accounts, ensuring their needs are met and they receive exceptional service.
- Utilize insights from managing key accounts to guide the team and refine strategies for broader customer success.
3. Customer Relationship Management:
- Oversee the management of existing exporters who are paid subscribers of Alibaba GGS products.
- Ensure the team provides comprehensive platform training and support to maximize customer satisfaction and product usage.
- Regularly assess customer need sand feedback, ensuring the team is proactive in addressing any issues or opportunities for improvement.
4. Financial Operations:
- Act as the primary point ofcontact for all finance-related matters with Alibaba HQ.
- Manage payment processing,commission calculation, and reconciliation with Alibaba HQ.
- Troubleshoot and resolve anyfinance-related issues between Tradeshi and Alibaba HQ in a timely manner.
- Forecasting sales revenue andannual budget for own team
5. Collaboration with New Sales Team:
- Coordinate with the New Sales Team to ensure smooth transitions from sales to renewals, particularly focusing on securing 1st-year renewals.
- Work closely with the New Sales Team to identify and leverage opportunities for customer referrals.
- Share insights and feedback with the New Sales Team to continuously improve the sales-to-renewals pipeline.
6. Communication & Reporting:
- Maintain regular communication with Alibaba HQ, ensuring all processes related to finance and customer management are aligned.
- Prepare and present regular reports on team performance, customer satisfaction, key account management, and financial reconciliation to senior management.
- Stay informed of all upcoming products and features from Alibaba.com and communicate relevant updates to the
team and customers.
7. Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in customer retention, account management, and product management.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement within the Renewals team and in managing key accounts.
- Collaborate with other teams, including New Sales and Data, Content, and IT, to ensure a seamless customer experience across the board.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
- Able to travel locally, nationally and internationally
- Good knowledge and networks in Bangladesh’s export industry
- Business Development and export promotion knowledge a plus
- Stakeholder management and team leadership experience
- Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making
- Proficiency in Excel/GoogleSuite
- Fluency in Bangla and experiential fluency in English (any exposure to Chinese/Mandarin is a plus)
Typical success profile of a candidate:
- At least 5 years of experience in customer retention, sales, or account management, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing key accounts and leading by example.
- Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms, ideally with experience in Alibaba.com or similar platforms.
- Proven experience in managing financial operations, including payment processing and reconciliation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and key accounts.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Employment Structure
- Hybrid in Bangladesh. Travel to key account locations is required. Some travel to other Tradeshi offices such as Chittagong may be required. Yearly attendance at the conference at Alibaba HQ in Hangzhou may also be required.
- Salary: BDT 50,000+ per month (may be higher for deserving candidates)
